CBD Full-Spectrum Tinctures And How To Use Them
One of the challenges for many people new to the use of CBD products is to determine what formulation to use and how to most effectively take the product. The terminology can also be confusing at first glance, which can add to the challenge of finding the right option for your needs.
What is a Tincture?
Tinctures are made from concentrated hemp oil, carrier oil, and essential oils for flavoring if the product offers different flavors. Full-spectrum CBD means the hemp oil contains all of the beneficial ingredients found in the product, including cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This creates what is known as the entourage effect, where all compounds work together to offer a greater range of positive effects.
The most common carrier oil is MCT oil, which contains medium-chain triglycerides. This oil has a very neutral flavor while also having a positive effect on the cells of the brain and the body. Ideally, look for tinctures using organic MCT oils and organic essential oils.
Essential oils are used to create a pleasant taste. Popular options are peppermint or watermelon. Organic Stevia is typically added to flavored CBD tinctures. Unflavored varieties are also available.
How to Use
CBD tincture is taken by placing a couple of drops under the tongue and holding it in the mouth for about 60 seconds. This increases absorption, and users experience more rapid results. The drops can also be added to beverages or foods and consumed, with some reduction in absorption due to the digestive processes.
